Who am I?

Ken Thompson

I’m a veteran submariner and senior operations professional with a proven track record in career advancement coaching. I have experience leading teams, managing complex infrastructure, and operating in high-accountability environments. Throughout my career—both in uniform and in the civilian sector—I’ve hired talent, built organizations, and competed for leadership roles myself. I understand what interviewers are evaluating because I’ve been responsible for making those decisions.


I believe most military veterans already possess the substance employers desire. What’s often missing is clear translation, structured storytelling, and confidence under pressure. My approach to interview preparation for veterans is practical and straightforward: no scripts, no fluff, and no attempts to make veterans sound like something they’re not. We focus on ownership, decision-making, and communicating impact in a way that resonates with civilian hiring managers.


OrdersToOffers was built to provide military veterans career coaching, helping them deliberately prepare, practice realistically, and walk into interviews ready to perform.

Our MOS

OrdersToOffers is a boutique, after-hours interview coaching practice designed exclusively for military veterans transitioning into salaried professional and leadership roles in the civilian workforce. 


We specialize in interview preparation for veterans and career advancement coaching for those who are already employed or actively transitioning. Our focus is on helping veterans move into individual contributor, front-line supervision, or mid-level leadership positions. Our clients are serious professionals who aim to perform better in interviews, clearly communicate their experience, and advance their careers with confidence. OrdersToOffers is not a resume-writing service, job placement agency, or an entry-level career program. 


All coaching is delivered one-on-one during evenings and weekends, making our services accessible to working professionals who cannot take time off to prepare for interviews. Every engagement is confidential, high-touch, and tailored to the client’s specific goals, experience level, and interview timeline. 


Our services include interview readiness audits, realistic mock interviews, structured feedback, and targeted coaching that helps veterans translate military experience into clear, compelling civilian interview stories. We focus on clarity, ownership, decision-making, executive presence, and confidence—skills that directly influence hiring outcomes. Clients receive direct, honest feedback along with actionable guidance they can immediately apply in real interviews. 


OrdersToOffers was founded by a Navy veteran with extensive leadership and operations experience. Our approach is practical, disciplined, and outcome-focused. We prepare clients to think, speak, and present themselves at the level required for professional and leadership roles. While we do not guarantee job offers or hiring decisions, we do ensure clients are better prepared, more confident, and more effective in interviews. 


To maintain quality, OrdersToOffers works with a limited number of clients each month. Every prospective client begins with a free introductory call to confirm fit, alignment, and readiness before moving forward.
